; A fundamental theme in the history of museum architecture, transition spaces are particularly relevant in the Louisiana Museum in Humlebæk, Denmark. In addition to articulating buildings constructed in different eras, the circulation areas and the communication between interior and exterior are part of the museum’s identity. Designed by Danish architects Jørgen Bo (1919-1999) and Wilhelm Wohlert (1920-2007), the complex was built in phases between the 1950s and the end of the 20th century. Throughout this time, and also in subsequent renovation works, the relationship with the surrounding landscape was expanded, diversifying the possibilities for enjoying modern and contemporary art, both inside and outside the exhibition rooms. Combining a brief text and a visual sequence, this essay seeks to give visibility to alternative visiting routes, oriented towards moments of transparency and transition between architecture, art and landscape.
