Description: We present the complete genome sequence of Porphyromonas gingivalis strain KCOM 3001 (= ChDC KB54) isolated from a Korean patient with chronic periodontitis. The genome is a single circular chromosome of 2,353,520 bp with 48.36% G + C content, containing 1,998 protein-coding sequences, 12 rRNAs, and 53 tRNAs. Genes related to gingipains, adhesins, hemagglutinins, capsular biosynthesis, iron acquisition systems, and the Type IX secretion system were identified. This genome sequence may serve as a useful resource for understanding the genetic features of P. gingivalis in Korean populations and could aid future comparative and functional studies.
