| Περιγραφή: | Porphyromonas gingivalis is a keystone pathogen associated with chronic periodontitis and related systemic conditions. We report the complete genome sequence of strain KCOM 2798, isolated from dental plaque of a Korean patient with periodontitis. The genome consists of a single circular chromosome of 2, 410, 673 bp with 48.5% GC content, encoding 2, 177 genes, including 1, 986 protein-coding sequences, 53 tRNAs, 12 rRNAs, 2 ncRNAs, and 124 pseudogenes. Genes for gingipains, fimbriae, hemagglutinins, adhesins, and antibiotic resistance were identified. This genome information may provide a useful basis for future comparative and functional studies of P. gingivalis pathogenicity. |
