It is a sector of the economy that is as robust in terms of the number of workers as it is informal, and whose regulations, apart from being extremely late, are poorly respected. This bibliographical article aims to reflect on domestic work in Brazil, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected the lives and work of workers in general and domestic workers, especially black workers. To this end, we reflect on the historical origins of domestic employment in Brazil, the history of domestic workers' rights in the country and, finally, we discuss the omissions imposed on domestic workers in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
