| Description: | Exploring the relationship between cinema and Mixed Reality media technologies (XR - VR/AR/MR), this study proposes the model of 'cinema / XR' hybridization and convergence as one of the essential avenues for increasing the attractiveness of European cinema. The study of incentive policies in various European and non-European countries reveals the inadequacy and disparity of support in this sector across several European countries. The UCA team then conducts an experimental study using the eye-tracking method to highlight the characteristics of Mixed Reality content reception practices in the areas of perception and spatial information processing, in order to gather arguments in favour of the cognitive singularity or even superiority of the 'cinema / XR' hybridization, compared to classic cinema. This result relating to the field of social cognition induced by media practice, allows recommendations for the increase of the competitiveness and attractiveness of European cinema through aid for the development and teaching of mixed ‘cinema / XR’ technologies and through the development of collective and individual viewing spaces, offering to young audiences immersive, interactive and mixing Realities devices. |
