| Description: | This article aims to discuss the premises for overcoming underdevelopment elaborated by Darcy Ribeiro (1922-1997) in his book: 'The Latin American Dilemma: Power Structures and Insurgent Forces' (1983). The methodology used was a literature review based on the diachronic reconstitution of social processes, following the premise of André Botelho (2019), thus emphasizing the relations between State and Society in Darcy Ribeiro’s trajectory. The text concluded that the arguments elaborated by Darcy Ribeiro in this work are the result of the nexus between his political and intellectual positions, added to the experience of the positions he occupied. Therefore, this work is more than a purely academic work, it seeks ways to enable political action in the emancipatory sentiment for Brazil and Latin America. ; Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir las premisas para la superación del subdesarrollo elaboradas por Darcy Ribeiro (1922-1997) en su libro: "El dilema latinoamericano: estructuras de poder y fuerzas insurgentes" (1983). La metodología utilizada fue una revisión de la literatura basada en la reconstitución diacrónica de los procesos sociales, siguiendo la premisa de André Botelho (2019), enfatizando así las relaciones entre Estado y Sociedad en la trayectoria de Darcy Ribeiro. El texto concluye que los argumentos elaborados por Darcy Ribeiro en esta obra son el resultado del nexo entre sus posiciones políticas e intelectuales, sumado a la experiencia de los cargos que ocupó. Por lo tanto, este trabajo es más que un trabajo puramente académico, busca formas de posibilitar la acción política en el sentimiento emancipatorio para Brasil y América Latina. ; Este artigo objetiva discutir as premissas de superação do subdesenvolvimento elaboradas por Darcy Ribeiro (1922-1997) em seu livro: ‘O Dilema da América Latina: estruturas de poder e forças insurgentes’ (1983).
