Περιγραφή: Treball d'investigació/Fi de màster. Tutora: Dra. Victòria Alsina Keith. ; Aquest treball es compon d’una traducció de l’anglès al català del relat “Recitatif”, escrit per Toni Morrison. Aquesta traducció està escrita en el mateix gènere lingüístic (per tant en forma de relat) i va dirigida al mateix tipus de lector que el text original en anglès; és a dir, un públic general adult. Es pretén, en la mesura del possible, que la traducció tingui el mateix efecte en el lector català que en el lector de parla anglesa. En aquest sentit, s’han fet servir unes tècniques de traducció o unes altres, en funció de les diferències culturals existents entre els EUA i Catalunya. Finalment, aquest treball es compon, també, d’una anàlisi literària i traductològica que pretén posar de manifest el valor del text de partida, per tal de justificar-ne la traducció. En tant que treball de traducció, es tracta amb més deteniment aquesta part traductològica i, concretament, com els elements culturals, l’oralitat fingida, el punt de vista i els jocs de paraules són les qüestions que han suposat un repte més gran per al traductor, i com i per què, aquest els ha decidit resoldre. ; This dissertation consists of a translation, from English into Catalan, of Toni Morrison’s "Recitatif". The text has been written in the same linguistic genre (that is, a short story) and is directed to the same type of reader as the original text is; that is, a general adult audience. As far as it is possible, it is intended for the translation to have the same effect on the Catalan-speaking readership as on the English-speaking readership. And that is why cultural differences between the USA and Catalonia have been considered when having to decide among translation techniques. This work is also composed of a literary and translational analysis that aims to show the value of the source text, in order to justify its translation.
