Description: The advent of the Information Age has brought many developments in telecommunication systems. A system involving both voice and video could very well give a new meaning to telecommunication. Applications derived from such a system are varied and lots of people from different fields would benefit from it. Digitization will be applied to both the video and the audio signals. Flash conversion is applied to video while Continuously Variable Slope Delta Modulation (CVSD) will be used for the audio. Lossy compression will be used for the video signal to reduce the transmitted image information while most of the bandwidth is dedicated to audio. With a moderate bandwidth, real-time voice and picture telecommunication can be achieved. Priorities for voice and video can be adjusted so as to allow shifts in the quality of one type to the detriment of the other.
