| Περιγραφή: | The relationship between domestic constitutional law and international human rights law is one of the most relevant debates in contemporary constitutionalism. In Ecuador, the 2008 Constitution recognizes the validity and direct application of international human rights treaties, integrating them into the so-called constitutional bloc. In this context, the need arises to analyze the scope and limits of derived constituent power in relation to the international commitments assumed by the State. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between international human rights treaties and the exercise of derived constituent power in Ecuador, with special attention to its impact on constitutional reform processes. The research was conducted using a qualitative, legal-doctrinal approach, based on the documentary analysis of constitutional norms, international human rights instruments, and relevant jurisprudence. The hermeneutic-legal method and the analytical-synthetic method were also applied to interpret the normative and doctrinal content of the subject of study. The results demonstrate that international human rights treaties constitute parameters for interpretation and substantive limits for the exercise of derived constituent power, insofar as they establish minimum standards of protection that the State must respect and guarantee. It is concluded that, within the Ecuadorian constitutional model, the constitutional bloc strengthens the protection of fundamental rights and conditions constitutional reforms, preventing setbacks in the levels of human rights guarantees. ; La relación entre el derecho constitucional interno y el derecho internacional de los derechos humanos constituye uno de los debates más relevantes del constitucionalismo contemporáneo.
