| Περιγραφή: | As an Evangelical theologian and Christian philosopher, I was always interested in the “faith and reason” connections. One of the most important theological contributions ever made to the debates on this relationship was the papal encyclical “Faith and Reason”, promulgated by Pope John Paul II on September, 14 in 1998. In this essay I will offer my analysis of the abovementioned document in the context of the dialogue with leading Protestant intellectuals – Carl F.H. Henry and Alvin Plantinga. While the “post-truth” world nihilates both faith and reason, cynically rejecting the arguments of Christian philosophy and theology, the harmonization of faith and reason within specific Christian tradition and then the concordance of all those different Christian traditions of faith and reason become a condition for a fruitful dialogue between the academy and the Church, culture and society. Авторські рефлексії присвячені переосмисленню основних положень папського послання “Віра і розум” (Fides et ratio) в контексті діалогу з провідними протестантськими інтелектуалами – Карлом Генрі та Алвіном Плантінгою. У той час як світ “постправди” нигілізує і віру, і розум, цинічно відкидаючи аргументи християнської філософії і теології, гармонізація віри і розуму всередині кожної окремої християнської традиції і соборна гармонізація християнських традицій віри і розуму стають умовою для плідного діалогу академії і Церкви, культури й суспільства. |
