Περιγραφή: The article examines the peculiarities of the professional training of future pediatric dentists. An analysis of theoretical works of researchers was made, which shows that scientists determine the main areas of improvement of higher dental education. It was defined that in the context of the research, scientists did not present a comprehensive set of features of the professional training of future pediatric dentists. It was found that the following four areas are important signs (features) of the professional training of future pediatric dentists: 1)acquisition by students of the necessary competencies, which include a set of knowledge, abilities, skills, necessary experience of working with patients of different age groups and testify to the suitability of the education received by students for competent work with pediatric patients; 2)interdisciplinary and integration orientation in the training of pediatric dentistry specialists, which emphasizes the adequacy of skills and knowledge acquired in various disciplines; 3)taking into account psychological and pedagogical aspects in the provision of dental care, taking into account the individual characteristics of the development of the child’s organism based on knowledge of pedagogy and childhood psychology, readiness to take into account the specifics of the child’s psychological development in different age periods, the ability to provide a clinical and statistical assessment of the psycho-emotional status of children and adolescents in the dental office; 4)the expediency of using simulator models in the training of children’s dentists, taking into account the anatomical structure of the child’s body, which will indicate the students’ awareness of the possibilities of variable use of dental tools in working with such patients. The advantages of simulation training are outlined: the absence of stress for students in the conditions of working with an inanimate object; acquisition of future children’s dentists clinical experience in a virtual environment without risk to the patient; improvement of practical skills in case of complex dental pathology in a child patient; objective assessment of the achieved level of skill in performing the necessary dental manipulations; an unlimited number of repetitions to practice practical skills, etc.
У статті розглянуто особливості професійної підготовки майбутніх дитячих стоматологів. Виявлено, що важливими ознаками професійної підготовки майбутніх дитячих стоматологів є опанування студентами необхідних компетенцій, що охоплюють сукупність знань, умінь, навичок, необхідного досвіду роботи з пацієнтами різних вікових груп; міждисциплінарно-інтеграційне спрямування у навчанні фахівців дитячої стоматології; урахування психолого-педагогічних аспектів навчання студентів-стоматологів; доцільність використання моделей-симуляторів у підготовці дитячих стоматологів з урахуванням анатомічної будови дитячого організму.
