| Description: | In modern conditions of activity of specialists working in the agrarian sector, knowledge of a foreign language is becoming an integral attribute of a highly qualified specialist. Fluency in a foreign language helps not only a professional, but also a personal development of professionals in the agricultural sector, as it facilitates communication with foreign colleagues, broadens personal horizons, and strengthens confidence in one’s abilities. The structure of professional foreign language competence for students of higher agricultural institutions should include existential, objective (communicative), social, and evaluative components. The existential component reflects the student’s ability and readiness to learn English; the object (communicative) component characterizes the active component of training; social and evaluative components represent the student’s ability and readiness to be engaged in professional activities in English as well as the ability to evaluate their activities in English, respectively. Effective organization of the educational process involves the development of all components of foreign language competence, however, researchers note that the main condition for successful professional communication in English is the formation of a system of concepts expressed by lexical units, or the formation of the lexicon in the students’ minds. At the same time, the formed lexicon implies the possession of an integral set of knowledge of lexical means in Ukrainian and foreign languages, which include a system of concepts and language skills of word use in all types of language activity in the conditions of professional communication. У сучасних умовах діяльності працівників аграрної галузі знання іноземної мови все частіше сприймається як невід’ємний атрибут висококваліфікованого фахівця. Вільне володіння іноземною мовою допомагає не тільки у професійному, а також в особистісному розвитку працівників аграрної галузі, оскільки, сприяє спілкуванню із закордонними колегами, розширює кругозір та зміцнює впевненість у своїх можливостях. Структура професійної іншомовної компетенції для студентів аграрного закладу вищої освіти має включати екзистенційну, об'єктну (комунікативну), соціальну та оцінювальну складові. Екзистенційний компонент відображає здатність і готовність студента до вивчення англійської мови; об’єктний (комунікативний) компонент характеризує діяльнісну складову навчання; соціальний та оцінювальний компоненти представляють здатність та готовність студента до включення у професійну діяльність англійською мовою і здатність до оцінки своєї діяльності англійською мовою відповідно. Ефективна організація навчального процесу передбачає розвиток усіх складових іншомовної компетенції, проте дослідники зазначають, що головною умовою успішного професійного спілкування англійською мовою є сформованість у свідомості студентів системи понять, виражених лексичними одиницями, або сформованість лексикону. При цьому сформований лексикон має на увазі володіння інтегральною сукупністю знань лексичних засобів українською та іноземними мовами, що включають систему понять і мовних навичок слововживання у всіх видах мовної діяльності в умовах професійного спілкування. |
