| Περιγραφή: | The purpose of the research is to highlight the changes, which happened at Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical Institute after the declaration of the independence of Ukraine and prior to the Institute's being granted the university status. The methodology of the research is based on historical, systemic, socio-cultural and comparative analytical approaches, which provide the golden opportunity to assess the higher educational institution development comprehensively in the context of the educational reforms and social changes. Scientific novelty. There have been identified the main factors, which had influence on the development of a higher educational institution and the results of its activities in the context of socio-political and economic processes at the beginning of the independence. Conclusions. Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical Institute has undergone significant transformations caused by the nationwide changes in the field of education, socio-economic issues and political processes of building an independent Ukraine during the period of 1991 – 1998. Despite the challenges associated primarily with the financial difficulties, the Institute managed not only to maintain its role as the leading pedagogical institution of the region, but also to adapt to new conditions. The structural changes have been made, new specialties have been introduced, new approaches to the educational process have been applied, cooperation with the Ukrainian and foreign educational institutions has expanded, and the research activities have intensified. The institute played an important role in the formation of a new generation of educational staff, who worked in the context of the introduction of new educational standards and the democratisation of society. There has been the following significant achievement of this period: the national component strengthening in the educational process, the active development of the Ukrainian-speaking educational environment, as well as the curricula modernization in accordance with the needs of an independent state. In 1991–1998, the Pedagogical Institute underwent a stage of formation under the conditions of the independent Ukraine, which allowed it to transform into Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University and continue its mission of training highly qualified educational staff. Мета статті. Висвітлити зміни, що відбулися в Дрогобицькому державному педагогічному інституті імені І.Франка після проголошення незалежності України і до присвоєння йому статусу університету. Методологічне підґрунтя базується на історичному, системному, соціокультурному та порівняльно-аналітичному підходах, що дозволяють комплексно оцінити розвиток вищого навчального закладу у контексті освітніх реформ та суспільних змін. Наукова новизна. Визначено основні чинники, які впливали на розвиток вищого навчального закладу та результати його діяльності в контексті суспільно-політичних та економічних процесів на початку незалежності. Висновки. У 1991–1998 рр. Дрогобицький державний педагогічний інститут І.Франка зазнав суттєвих трансформацій, спричинених політичними процесами розбудови незалежної України, загальнодержавними змінами у сфері освіти, соціально-економічними проблемами. Попри тогочасні виклики педагогічний інститут зумів зберегти свою роль провідного педагогічного закладу регіону, адаптуватися до нових умов. Було проведено структурні зміни, впроваджено нові спеціальності, застосовано нові підходи до навчального процесу, розширено співпрацю з українськими та зарубіжними освітніми установами, активізовано науково-дослідну діяльність. Інститут відіграв важливу роль у формуванні нової генерації педагогічних кадрів, які працювали вже в умовах демократизації суспільства та впровадження нових стандартів освіти. Значним досягненням цього періоду стало зміцнення національної складової у навчальному процесі, активний розвиток україномовного освітнього середовища, а також модернізація програм відповідно до потреб незалежної держави. У 1991–1998 рр. педагогічний інститут пройшов етап становлення в умовах незалежної України, що дозволило йому перетворитися у Дрогобицький державний педагогічний університет імені Івана Франка та продовжити свою місію підготовки висококваліфікованих педагогічних кадрів. |
