| Description: | Evolution of the organizational and legal forms of entrepreneurship in Russia in the 19th early 20th century, government and society participation in this process are studied. It is shown that three types of business organizations were legally formalized in the beginning of this period; they are widely used today as well: joint-stock companies, simple and general partnerships. Considerable importance of such measures for the economic rise, elimination of social distinctions (noblemen, public servants, and even the church could legally participate in business activities since then) and the country’s progressive development in general are explained. Statistical data about prompt spread of all the entrepreneurship types in Russia in the early 20th century as well as non-profit associations contributing to their activities (stock exchanges, entrepreneurial unions, etc.) are provided. |
