| Description: | The article discusses the motives underlying the erection of the little chapel by Widow A.L. Vagel in Leonid Dobychin’s novel “The Town of N”. It is posited that the idea behind this project is to unite the Russian Orthodox population of the township and confront Catholicism. The author of the article points out the connection between the cross-confessional conflict in the novel and the historical events of the 18th century Poland. Discovering this new parallel helps us realize the historical and cultural complexity of the novel. Обсуждается вопрос о цели строительства «часовенки» в романе Л. Добычина «Город Эн». Выбор делается в пользу объединения православного населения и отпора католицизму. Отмечается параллель между межконфессиональным конфликтом в романе и событиями в Польше ХУШ века, что свидетельствует о культурно-исторической многслойности «Города Эн». |
