Περιγραφή: The article attempts to propose a conceptual socio-geographical approach to forecasting the evolution of the Eurasian space, to assess the prospects of Russia's positioning in the emerging 'Greater Eurasia'. The study highlight the most important prolonging trends for the territorial organization of the Russian society, which are: the advanced development of the largest cities (first of all - the capital metropolis), the 'turn to the East', the 'attraction to sea', the increase of the role and geo-economic and geopolitical importance of the border and 'national' territories in the regional structure.
В статье предпринята попытка предложить концептуальный общественно- географический подход к прогнозированию эволюции евразийского пространства, оценить перспективы позиционирования России в формирующейся "Большой Евразии", высветить пролонгированность наиболее значимых для территориальной организации российского общества трендов: опережающего развития крупнейших городов (прежде всего - столичной метрополии), "разворота на восток", "тяготения к морю", повышения в региональной структуре страны роли и значения (геоэкономического и геополитического) приграничных, а также "национальных" территорий.
