Περιγραφή: This paper conducts a Systematic Literature Review regarding the strategic development of logistics – distribution centers in port hinterland regions, with a particular focus on the Bakar Industrial Zone as a case study. The comprehensive search of the ISI Web of Science database coupled with research objective criteria revealed a total of 17 seminal articles included in the study. The articles were organized into six distinct research clusters on basis of thematic relevance: (1) General Overview and Background; (2) Problem Definition and Conceptual Framework; (3) Optimization Models & Algorithmic Approaches; (4) Simulation and Empirical Studies; (5) Supply Chain Integration and Network Optimization; and (6) Sustainability and Efficiency Considerations. Cluster content analysis revealed nine strategic guidelines for the sustainable development of logistics–distribution centers. Collectively, these nine strategic guidelines advance the sustainable development of LDCs by ensuring state-of-the-art infrastructure, integrated supply chain planning, advanced optimization and digital technologies, and the incorporation of green practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The aforementioned guidelines were applied on the Bakar Industrial Zone case study with the aim of: (1) Enhancing Infrastructure; (2) Harmonize Regulations; (3) Encourage investments; and (4) Implement Sustainable Solutions.
