Латинская Америка – один из самых удаленных от России регионов мира, регулярные связи с ней берут начало лишь в ХХ в. До того, несмотря на огромный взаимный интерес, контакты между народами России и южноамериканцами были ничтожны, не только из-за географических, но и политических препятствий и, в част-ности, упорного отказа правительства Российской империи признавать американские республики, бывшие «мятежные» провинции испанской монархии. Лишь единицы из южноамериканцев смогли своими глазами увидеть реальность «северного гиганта», однако не было такого крупного латиноамериканского мыслителя, который бы не обращался к истории и политике России. Уникальны заметки о путешествии в Россию видного общественного деятеля, одного из предшественников перуанского социализма Хуана Бустаманте, оставшегося очарованным не только страной, но и – что парадоксально, – её политическим строем, самодержавием. Latin America is one of the most remote from Russian regions in the world. Our relationships were established only in the twentieth century. Before that, despite the huge mutual interest, contacts between the Russians and the South Americans were insignificant, and the reason was not only geographical, but also political obstacles, in particular the persistent refusal of the Imperial government of St. Petersburg to recognize the American Republic, the former “rebel” province of the Spanish monarchy. Meanwhile, there was a great interest to Russia on the part of Latin-Americans. Only a few of them were able to see the real Russian Empire with their own eyes. Only the prominent Peruvian social activist and revolutionary, Juan Bustamante, one of the forerunners of socialism visited our country, and remaining fascinated not only by country, but, paradoxically, by its political system. Such an original view on the Russian Empire sharply distinguishes Bustamante from his European contemporaries. |
