Аннотация. В статье исследуется формирование образа памятника капитан-лейтенанту Казарскому в британской прессе эпохи Крымской войны. Анализ газетных публикаций, характеризующихся использованием эмоционально-оценочной лексики и специфических стилистических приемов при описании памятника, позволил выделить три группы текстов. Эти группы различаются по источникам информации, контекстуальному окружению и степени позитивной или ироничной окраски. Исследование показывает, что образы памятника варьируются от чисто эстетической характеристики архитектурного сооружения до его символического осмысления как воплощения героизма и памяти о подвиге. Авторы приходят к выводу, что репрезентация памятника в британской прессе середины XIX века была осуществлена сочетанием лингвистических средств и политического контекста, что способствовало формированию у англоязычного читателя двойственного образа русского героя. Abstract. The article studies the formation of the image of the monument to Captain-Lieutenant Kazarsky in the British newspapers of the Crimean War period. Through the analysis of newspaper articles, characterized by the use of emotionally evaluative language and specific stylistic devices in describing the monument, three groups of texts were identified. These groups differ in their sources of information, contextual environment, and the degree of positive or ironic coloring of the descriptions. The study shows that the descriptions of the monument range from purely aesthetic characterization to its symbolic interpretation as an embodiment of heroism and remembrance of the feat. The authors conclude that the representation of the monument in the British press of the mid-19th century was shaped by the combination of linguistic means and political context, which contributed to the formation of a dual image of the Russian hero in the consciousness of English-speaking readers. |
