Description: The article is devoted to the process of settling of Orenburg region in the XVIII century. It is noted that the main flow of immigrants to the South Urals came from the middle Volga region and was distinguished by a complex ethnic composition. This predetermined the multinational composition of the Orenburg region. The Orenburg expedition made a great contribution to the settling of the region. It is shown that the shores of the Urals and the Trans-Volga steppes attracted attention with their free spaces of the Cossacks and peasants of Little Russia, the Tatars of the Kazan Territory, the Soltanaul and Kundra Nogais, the newly baptized Mordovian peasants. In the period between the second and third revisions (1747 - 1765), 9.8 thousand Chuvash arrived in the Orenburg province.
Статья посвящена процессу заселения Оренбургского края в XVIII веке. Отмечается, что основной поток переселенцев на Южный Урал направлялся из среднего Поволжья и отличался сложным этническим составом. Это предопределило многонациональный состав Оренбуржья. Большой вклад в заселение региона внесла Оренбургская экспедиция. Показано, что берега Урала и Заволжские степи привлекли внимание своими вольными просторами казаков и крестьян Малороссии, татар Казанского края, солтанаульских и кундровских ногайцев, новокрещенными мордовскими крестьянами. В период между второй и третьей ревизиями (1747 - 1765) в Оренбургскую губернию прибыло 9,8 тыс. чувашей.
