Description: The article examines the key stages of legislative consolidation of the legal status of the nobility in the second half of the 18th – 19th centuries. It is shown that in addition to personal rights and advantages, the nobility had a strong corporate organization, which was a powerful administrative resource with which the upper class could influence the policy pursued at the level of both counties and provinces. As a result of the analysis of a number of normative acts governing the legal status of the noble class, the author came to the conclusion that in the period under review, the nobility was the most privileged class, but the personal advantages of the nobility, as well as their preferences in the economic and political spheres, formed during the 18th – first half of the 19th century, were gradually abolished by the end of the 19th century, and the nobility itself was converging in legal status with other classes. The article also attempts to study the changes in the legal status of the nobility that occurred as a result of the reforms of the 1860s – 1870s.
В представленной статье рассмотрены ключевые этапы законодательного закрепления правового статуса дворянства во второй половине XVIII – XIX веке. Показано, что помимо личных прав и преимуществ, дворянство имело сильную корпоративную организацию, которая представляла собой мощный административный ресурс, с помощью которого высшее сословие могло влиять на проводимую политику на уровне, как уездов, так и губерний. В результате анализа ряда нормативных актов, регулировавших правовой статус дворянского сословия, автор пришел к выводу, что в рассматриваемый период дворянство являлось наиболее привилегированным сословием, однако личные преимущества дворянства, а также их преференции в экономической и политической сфере, сформировавшиеся на протяжении XVIII – первой половины XIX в., к концу XIX в. постепенно упразднялись, а само дворянство сближалось в правовом положении с другими сословиями. В статье также предпринята попытка изучения изменений в правовом положении дворянства, произошедших в результате реформ 1860 – 1870-х годов.
