Περιγραφή: Статья посвящена анализу прилагательных с инструментальным значением и их роли в репрезентции категории инструментальности в русском языке. Исследование акцентирует внимание на том, как прилагательные, обозначающие материал, назначение или функцию предметов, выступают важным средством описания инструментов, используемых в различных сферах человеческой деятельности. В работе представлен широкий спектр примеров, систематизированных по тематическим группам, связанным с неживой и живой природой, а также веществами и минералами. Рассматриваются такие прилагательные, как солнечный (солнечная батарея), оптический (оптический кабель), лучевой (лучевая терапия), кварцевый (кварцевая лампа), газовый (газовая плита), лимонный (лимонная кислота) и многие другие. Каждый случай сопровождается описанием объекта, его функционального назначения и иллюстративными цитатами из Национального корпуса русского языка (НКРЯ), словарей и современных интернет-источников, что позволяет показать, как прилагательные отражают связь между действием и инструментом. Для анализа применялись контекстный, функциональный и описательный методы, а также интерпретация, что обеспечило более глубокое изучение семантического потенциала исследуемых языковых единиц. Результаты исследования подтверждают, что прилагательные являются ключевым элементом языка, структурирующим взаимодействие между субъектом, объектом и инструментом в категориальной ситуации. Они не только обогащают язык, но и способствуют более точной передаче знаний о функциональных свойствах объектов, подчёркивая их значимость в коммуникации. Работа демонстрирует, что прилагательные с инструментальным значением играют важную роль в актуализации категории инструментальности, раскрывая её через символическое и функциональное описание инструментов.
The proposed article is devoted to the analysis of adjectives with instrumental meaning and their role in expressing the category of instrumentality in the Russian language. The study focuses on how adjectives denoting the material, purpose or function of objects and serve as important means of describing the instruments used in various spheres of human activity. The paper presents a wide range of examples systematised into thematic groups related to inanimate and animate nature, as well as materials and minerals. Such adjectives as solar (solar battery), optical (optical cable), ray (radiation therapy), quartz (quartz lamp), gas (gas cooker), lemon (citric acid) and many others are considered. Each case is accompanied by a description of the object, its functional purpose and illustrative quotations from the Russian National Corpus, dictionaries and modern Internet sources, which allows us to show how adjectives reflect the relationship between the action and the instrument. Contextual, functional and descriptive methods, as well as interpretation were used for the analysis, which provided an in-depth study of the semantic potential of the studied language units. The results of the study confirm that adjectives are a key element of the language, structuring the interaction between subject, object and instrument in a categorical situation. They not only enrich the language, but also contribute to the accurate transfer of knowledge about the functional properties of objects, emphasising their importance in communication. The paper demonstrates that adjectives with instrumental meaning play an important role in actualising the category of instrumentality, revealing it through symbolic and functional description of instruments.
