Description: На рубеже XX-XXI вв. одну из лидирующих позиций в литературе стала занимать мультикультурная постколониальная литература. Она представлена творчеством писателей-билингвов, которые сочетают в себе культурные корни двух или более народов. Одним из представителей этого направления считается Эми Тан - американская писательница китайского происхождения. Центральной темой ее творчества является проблема культурной идентичности китайцев в Америке. Статья посвящена анализу сохранения культурной идентичности китайских иммигрантов. Материалом исследования является роман Эми Тан «Клуб радости и удачи». В ситуациях, описанных в романе, герои сталкиваются с трудностями, вызванными культурными, возрастными и социальными различиями. Ни одно из поколений героинь романа не соотносит себя в полной мере ни с культурой Китая, ни с культурой Америки.
At the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, multicultural postcolonial literature began to occupy one of the leading position in literature. It is represented by the work of bilingual writers who combine the cultural roots of two or more nations. One of the representatives of this trend is Amy Tan, an American writer of Chinese origin. The central theme of her work is the problem of Chinese cultural identity in America. The article is devoted to the analysis of the preservation of the cultural identity of Chinese immigrants. The research material is Amy Tan’s novel “The Joy Luck Club”. In the situations described in the novel, the characters face difficulties caused by cultural, age and social differences. None of the generations of the novel’s heroines fully correlates with either the culture of China or the culture of America.
