Περιγραφή: Gora Svyatoy Marii is a moraine hill covered with forests (dimensioned approximately 2,5 × 2,5 km) located on the border of the Rostov and Pereslavl Districts of Yaroslavl Oblast. The following results were obtained in the course of the interdisciplinary study of the terrain conducted by the author since 2014: detailed research of the historiography; analysis of a chronicle article of 1216 allowing to put an end to the discussion on the localization of the area "at St. Mary on the Sara river"; in the course of continuous archaeological explorations carried out with the use of the “General Land Surveying” plans of 1774-1791, seven new settlements (from the 8th to the 16th centuries) and a single burial mound were discovered; the use of a metal detector outside the cultural layer zone made it possible to obtain a representative collection of artifacts and outline the boundaries of the household area of the 13th-16th centuries.
«Гора святой Марии» покрытый лесом моренный холм (размеры около 2,5×2,5 км), расположенный на границе Ростовского и Переславского районов Ярославской области. В ходе междисциплинарного изучения местности, проводимого автором с 2014 г. достигнуты следующие результаты: подробно исследована историография; анализ летописной статьи 1216 г. позволил поставить точку в дискуссии о локализации местности «у Святой Марии на реце Саре»; в ходе сплошных археологических разведок, проводившихся с привлечением планов Генерального межевания 1774-1791 гг., открыто семь новых селищ (от XIII в. до XVI в.) и один курганный могильник; использование металлодетектора вне зоны культурного слоя позволило собрать представительную коллекцию предметов и наметить границы территории хозяйственного освоения XIII-XVI вв.
