Description: The article discusses the problem of the shortage of young skilled workers in manufacturing enterprises, in particular aircraft manufacturing. The results of a survey among 34 year students of the Polytechnic College named after N.N. Godovikova. The study identified the criteria for choosing a place of work for college students, their interest in finding employment in aircraft manufacturing enterprises, their willingness to work in production, and the factors preventing the influx of young skilled workers into the aircraft building industry. The survey showed that the main criteria for choosing a job is decent wages. But students have much higher expectations regarding its level. One of the main reasons for the insufficient number of youth in enterprises is also the low prestige of working professions in modern Russian society. This is largely due to the reluctance of young people to choose working professions. Other factors that repel secondary school graduates from working in production are the lack of psychological readiness to work in production, in particular, fear of a high level of responsibility and concern about difficult, harmful working conditions. To change the situation in this area, it is necessary not only to improve working conditions at enterprises, but also to conduct active informational and careeroriented work with young people, to increase the prestige of working professions, to create and maintain an effective system of promoting the employment of graduates of colleges and universities. В статье рассматривается проблема нехватки молодых квалифицированных рабочих кадров на производственных предприятиях, в частности авиастроительных. Представлены результаты опроса, проведенного среди студентов 34 курсов Политехнического колледжа им. Н.Н. Годовикова. В рамках исследования выявлены критерии выбора места работы учащимися колледжа, их заинтересованность в трудоустройстве на предприятиях авиастроительной отрасли, готовность к работе на производстве, факторы, препятствующие притоку молодых квалифицированных рабочих в авиастроительную отрасль. Опрос показал, что главными критериями выбора места работы является достойная заработная плата. Но ожидания относительно ее уровня у учащихся гораздо выше реальных предложений. Одной из главных причин недостаточного количества молодёжи на предприятиях также является низкий престиж рабочих профессий в современном российском обществе. Именно с этим во многом связано нежелание молодежи выбирать рабочие профессии. Другими факторами, отталкивающими выпускников ссузов от работы на производстве, является отсутствие психологической готовности к работе на производстве, в частности, боязнь высокого уровня ответственности и обеспокоенность тяжелыми, вредными условиями труда. Для изменения ситуации в этой сфере необходимо не только совершенствовать условия труда на предприятиях, но и вести активную информационную, а также профориентационную работу с молодежью, повышать престиж рабочих профессий, создавать и поддерживать эффективную систему содействия трудоустройству выпускников ссузов и вузов.
