| Description: | In the article on the material of N. Gogol’s poem “Dead Souls” the modal meanings and means of their realization in the speech of the landlords Manilov and Nozdrev are considered. The system of modal means (in this work: modal particles, modal words, modal combinations and forms of grammar mood) is established. The specific features of such means in the speech of each of the characters and the connection between the peculiarities of the repertoire of modal means and the characteristics of the artistic images of the heroes is revealed. This allows to identify the peculiarities of the poem, which is important for its understanding and translation into other languages. Based on the analysis of the text, using the data from dictionaries, typical particles, modal words and combinations for Manilov’s and then Nozdrev’s speech are established, their frequency is assessed, and the key meanings that each of the characters realizes in communication are highlighted. At the functional level, the commonality of the use of modal words and forms of mood in the speech of these characters is established. В статье на материале поэмы Н.В. Гоголя «Мёртвые души» рассматриваются модальные значения и средства их реализации в речи помещиков Манилова и Ноздрева. Устанавливается система модальных средств (в нашей работе модальных частиц, модальных слов, модальных сочетаний и форм наклонения) выражения модальных смыслов. Показаны специфические черты таких средств в речи каждого из персонажей и выявлена связь между особенностями репертуара модальных средств и характеристиками художественных образов героев, что позволяет выделить особенности поэмы, важные для ее понимания и перевода на другие языки. С опорой на анализ текста, с привлечением данных словарей устанавливаются типичные для речи Манилова, а затем Ноздрева частицы, модальные слова и сочетания, оценивается их частотность, выделяются ключевые смыслы, которые каждый из героев реализует в коммуникации. На функциональном уровне устанавливается общность использования модальных слов и форм наклонения в речи этих персонажей. |
