Статья содержит анализ представлений американской прессы об особенностях функционирования советской политической элиты в 1922–1923 гг. и, в частности, о возрастающей политической роли И. Сталина, который получил репутацию «загадочного человека коммунизма». Выясняется, что уже в начале 1920-х гг. Сталин представлялся американским аналитикам одним из серьезных претендентов на высшую власть в Советском государстве. The article presents an analysis of the views of the US mass media on the peculiarities of functioning of the Soviet political elite in 1922–1923 and in particular on the growing political role of Stalin, who gained a reputation as the “mystery man of communism”. It turns out that already in the early 1920s, Stalin was seen by American analysts as one of the real contenders for Supreme power in the Soviet state. |
