Περιγραφή: The article attempts to consider the main areas of research of local historians of the Vladimir region and note some of the accumulated problems. The author fixes the ambiguity of the interpretation of the term "local history", analyzes the relationship of this concept with the "great" all-Russian history and shows the importance of local history for the formation of local historical memory. It is shown that at the end of the XX - the first quarter of the XXI century. The research activities of Vladimir local historians developed mainly in two directions. The first is connected with the study of traditional themes from the history of the region, which have long been "settled" (the most striking historical events, architectural monuments, "famous countrymen", etc.). The second is connected with the desire to follow new directions of historiography, with the search for new topics that meet the realities of the time, including addressing the problems of socio-cultural development, the history of everyday life, the functioning of government bodies, etc.
В статье сделана попытка рассмотреть основные направления исследований краеведов Владимирской области и отметить некоторые накопившиеся проблемы. Автор фиксирует неоднозначность трактовки термина «краеведение», анализирует соотношение этого понятия с «большой» общероссийской историей и показывает значение краеведения для формирования местной исторической памяти. Показано, что в конце XX - первой четверти XXI в. исследовательская деятельность владимирских краеведов развивалась в основном в двух направлениях. Первое связано с изучением традиционных тем из истории края, которые давно «устоялись» (наиболее яркие исторические события, памятники архитектуры, «знаменитые земляки» и т.д.). Второе связано со стремлением следовать новым направлениям историографии, с поиском новых тем, отвечающих реалиям времени, в том числе с обращением к проблемам социокультурного развития, к истории повседневности, функционирования органов власти и пр.
