Description: The search for new means of artistic and decorative design for stage in the process of transforming the theatre at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The end of the tradition of "theatrical scenery on duty" due to the fact that artists belonging to the Mir iskusstva movement (Aleksandr Golovin, Alexandre Benois, Léon Bakst, etc.) emerged as set designers. Roerich's innovation in the field of scenography in the twentieth century Russia. Roerich's refined perception of the "musicality of colour" and the “colour of music” in his concept designs of theatrical scenery and costumes in the period from 1905 to 1944. Roerich's reflections on the productions of Le Sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring), The Snow Maiden, etc. Evaluation of Roerich's theatrical works by prominent figures in the Arts (Mikhail Fokin, Jacques-Émile Blanche, etc.).
Поиск новых средств художественного и декорационного оформления сцены в процессе преобразования театра на рубеже XIX–XX веков. Конец традиции «дежурных декораций» с приходом в театр художников объединения «Мир искусства» (А.Я. Головин, А.Н. Бенуа, Л.С. Бакст и др.). Новаторство Рериха в области театрально-декорационного искусства России ХХ века. Проявление Рерихом утонченного восприятия «музыкальности цвета» и «красочности музыки» в работе над эскизами декораций и костюмов в период с 1905 по 1944 год. Размышления Рериха о постановках «Весны священной», «Снегурочки» и др. Оценка театральных работ Рериха выдающимися деятелями искусства (М.Фокина, Жак-Эмиль Бланша и др.).
