Description: In the Russian Empire the procedural powers of the political police were an integral part of its competence, which was expressed in the form of investigation of crimes under the name of «inquiry». An attempt to reveal the details and procedural features of the participation of the Russian political police in the preliminary investigation of both ordinary and state crimes was the purpose of this article.
В Российской империи процессуальные полномочия политической полиции являлись неотъемлемой частью ее компетенции, что нашло свое выражение в форме расследования преступлений под наименованием «дознание». Предпринята попытка раскрыть детали и процессуальные особенности участия российской политической полиции в предварительном расследовании как общеуголовных, так и государственных преступлений.
