The article discusses the key features of money as an economic category, shows their genesis. An important aspect that attracts the attention of the authors of the article is the nature of money as a universal equivalent. The essence of money is revealed by the authors from the standpoint of various methodological approaches, including through the prism of the space-time paradigm. the authors of the work emphasize the need to rethink the role and function of money in the context of the formation of the digital paradigm. The emergence of new forms of money presented in the form of cryptocurrencies determines the creation of fundamentally new coordinate systems for the development of monetary systems. Decentralized monetary systems based on the use of private money are becoming increasingly important. Despite the introduction of new types of money, traditional fiduciary currencies are still the basis of the monetary circulation system, which indicates a movement towards monetary polymorphism, when quasi-money, in the form of cryptocurrencies, also function alongside traditional forms of fiat money. The evolution of monetary systems also determines the formation of a new financial world order, which will also be based on the polymorphism of world currencies, when the banknotes of many developed countries will be able to play the role of world money. |
