| Description: | The article hypothesizes that the genesis of Russian Asian and African studies can best be understood by placing the arguments in the context of the "Eastern Question". The article explains why in Russia graduates of Asian and African bachelor's and master's degrees have mainly only two specialties – in history and philology. The reasons for the existence of several Asian and African educational models of master's and bachelor's degrees are investigated, the concept of “alternative Asian and African studies” is introduced, and examples of its development in modern Russia are given. The author raises the question of the need to separate the specialty “Asian and African Studies” into an independent scientific direction, to include it in the register of scientific directions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, to create Asian and African Studies graduate schools, dissertation councils and to defend dissertations for the degrees of candidates and doctors of sciences. The author calls to turn to common sense and remove the bureaucratic block from scientific research in the field of Asian and African studies. В статье выдвигается гипотеза, что лучше всего можно понять генезис рос-сийского востоковедения и африканистики, поместив рассуждения в контекст «Восточного вопроса». В статье объясняется, почему в России выпускники вос-токо¬ведных бакалавриата и магистратуры имеют преимущественно только две специальности – историка и филолога. Исследуются причины существования нескольких востоковедных образовательных моделей магистратуры и бакалавр-иата, вводится понятие «альтернативное востоковедение», приводятся примеры его развития в современной России. Автор ставит вопрос о необходимости выделения специальности «Востоковедение и африканистика» в самостоятельное научное направление, включения его в реестр научных направлений Минобрнауки РФ, создания востоковедных аспирантур, диссертационных советов и осуществ¬ления защит диссертаций на соискание степеней кандидатов и докторов наук. Звучит призыв обратиться к здравому смыслу и снять бюрократический блок с научных изысканий в области азиатских и африканских исследований. |
