| Description: | This article is devoted to the history of the formation of school themes in Russian literature. The author correlates the emergence of the school theme with the influence of European literature, the development of education in Russia, and the emergence and development of children's literature. The images of students, teachers and the school itself in works of art of various genres of the XVIII–XIX century speak about the relevance of school subjects. It is revealed that the theme of the school gives rise to a variety of issues. The author points to the moral aspect and social motives in revealing the theme of the school. The article analyzes the work of researchers in this area, lists the works of the XVIII–XIX centuries. in which there is a school theme. The author dwells in more detail on the work of L. Charskaya. Настоящая статья посвящена истории становления школьной темы в русской литературе. Автор соотносит появление темы школы с влиянием европейской литературы, развитием образования в России, возникновением и развитием детской литературы. Образы учеников, учителей и самой школы в художественных произведениях различных жанров XVIII–XIX века говорят об актуальности школьной тематики. Выявлено, что тема школы рождает разнообразную проблематику. Автор указывает на нравственный аспект и социальные мотивы в раскрытии темы школы. В статье проанализирована работа исследователей в этом направлении, перечислены произведения XVIII–XIX вв., в которых присутствует школьная тематика.
