| Περιγραφή: | The article is devoted to the activity of the 15th-century Byzantine intellectuals John Eugenic and Gennadius Scholarius, who were participants in the Ferrara-Florence Council and key figures in the fight against the union adopted at the council. Applying the method of textual analysis, the authors of the article consider the main works of thinkers, addressed to the first persons of the state and the church elite. It is noted that the Byzantine theologians tried to influence the decisions of the highest state and church figures and prevent the conclusion of the union with the West. Their unwavering faith in Orthodoxy and the teachings of the Holy Fathers were more important than the threatening danger from the Ottoman Empire. В центре внимания статьи – деятельность византийских интеллектуалов XV в. – Иоанна Евгеника и Геннадия Схолария, являвшихся участниками Ферраро-Флорентийского собора (1438-1439 гг.) и ключевыми фигурами в борьбе с унией, принятой на этом соборе. Применяя метод текстового анализа, авторы статьи рассматривают основные работы мыслителей, адресованные первые лицам государства и церковной элите. Отмечается, что византийские богословы пытались воздействовать на решения высших государственных и церковных деятелей и воспрепятствовать заключению унии с Западом. Их непоколебимая вера в Православие и учение святых отцов являлись более важными, чем грозящая опасность со стороны Османской империи. |
