Description: Drawing on research in the prime ministerial archives at the Museum of Australian Democracy, this article revisits the memorial diplomacy of postwar Australian governments in the era of the ‘memory boom’ through the prism of ‘Australia’s global memory footprint’. In light of the ideological divergences between successive premierships over Australia’s place in the world, it questions the idea of an ‘Anzac consensus’.
