Description: Despite the increasing emphasis on inclusive education, educators at university often lack training in supporting students with cognitive difficulties. This ongoing study investigates whether immersive virtual reality (IVR), combined with an online training program, can enhance inclusive teaching practices. We aim to evaluate how IVR simulations, replicating students’ challenges (e.g., reading difficulties, visuospatial impairments, cognitive overload and learning helplessness) and inclusive solutions that can be adopted, influence educators' awareness and teaching strategies. Ninety university teachers are being recruited and divided into three groups: IVR + online training, online-only training, and a control group. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will measure knowledge of inclusive practices and stress and self-esteem responses during IVR immersion. Preliminary findings will inform how digital simulations can support pedagogical innovation and highlight ethical considerations in disability simulations.
