Περίληψη: This article examines how a feeling of joy emerges within artistic improvisation and how such experiences may inform understandings of mental health and well-being. Drawing on the author's work as a psychoanalyst and facilitator of improvisation in theatre, voice and movement, the study is grounded in qualitative, art-based inquiry conducted during a workshop in Paris. Joy is approached not as a generic positive emotion but as an embodied, relational experience arising under conditions of safety, recognition, equality and creative freedom. Through close description of artistic processes and participants' accounts, joy is portrayed as a felt sense of expansion, vitality, strength and belonging, distinct from pleasure or flow. The article suggests that joy becomes possible when needs for security and growth are held together within a supportive relational field. It offers an account of how improvisational structures can support the emergence of joy and well-being in artistic, educational and therapeutic contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
