Abstract (English): Introduction/purpose: The objective of this research is to investigate the viability of using the Business Application Builder (BAB) software framework and microservice technology for the development of cooperative process-aware information systems (CPAIS) tailored for smaller business organizations with limited expert resources. The central hypothesis is that the BAB framework, based on an ontological model, combined with a microservice architecture, can facilitate automatic code generation, ensure rigorous consistency within an individual system, and enable seamless cooperation between multiple information systems. Methods: The research methodology utilized the BAB ontology, implemented with RDF and OWL, as the conceptual model for the information system. Microservice technology was employed for communication between distributed applications, while the CodeOntology, in conjunction with predefined templates, was used for automatic code generation in the Java programming language on the Jakarta EE platform. The research design was validated through the implementation of a proof-of-concept CPAIS for a group of companies in the transport logistics sector, where each company's information system acted as a BAB instance. Results: The implementation of the proof-of-concept system yielded significant quantitative improvements. Development time was reduced by nearly 60%, from an estimated 120 days for a traditional approach to 50 days using the BAB framework. Integration testing revealed a 75% reduction in errors related to the persistence and communication layers. The framework demonstrated high flexibility, allowing a new system node to be integrated in a single working day. The system successfully automated core logistics processes and enabled real-time data synchronization between distributed actors via standardized REST APIs. Conclusion: The findings confirm that the BAB framework is a highly effective platform for the accelerated development of scalable, interoperable, and flexible cooperative process-aware information systems. The research validates the initial hypothesis, demonstrating that this approach provides a distinct advantage for agile business environments, especially small- to medium-sized enterprises, by drastically reducing development effort, improving software quality, and enabling rapid adaptation to changing business requirements. Abstract (Serbian): Uvod/cilj: Cilj ovog istraživanja je da se ispita izvodljivost korišćenja softverskog okvira „Business Application Builder" (BAB) i mikro-servisne tehnologije za razvoj kooperativnih procesno-svesnih informacionih sistema (CPAIS) prilagođenih manjim poslovnim organizacijama sa ograničenim stručnim resursima.
