| Abstract (English): | This study examines the grammatical definition of the word through a descriptive and analytical approach, revealing the role of logical influence in shaping its definition and determining its constraints. It traces the development of the word’s definition among grammarians, focusing on the criterion of independence and its relation to the concept of linguistic stipulation, as well as the resulting objections and revisions in constructing the definition. The study also demonstrates the impact of the logical methodology on imposing constraints that go beyond formal description to rational analysis, particularly in issues such as the intended grammatical case and the covert pronoun. Furthermore, the research compares two approaches to defining the word: one based on its function within the linguistic structure, and the other treating it as an abstract concept requiring a precise logical boundary. The study concludes that the disagreement over the word’s definition reflects differences in modes of thinking between grammarians influenced by logic and those who are not. It recommends clarifying grammatical terminology to avoid conceptual ambiguity and delineating the limits of applying logical principles in formulating grammatical definitions. | Abstract (Arabic): | تناول البحث الحد النحوي للكلمة في إطار دراسة وصفية تحليلية تكشف دور التأثر المنطقي في صياغة تعريفها وضبط قيوده. ويستقرئ تطور تعريف الكلمة عند النحاة، مركزا على معيار الاستقلال وعلاقته بمفهوم الوضع، وما نتج عن ذلك من اعتراضات وإعادة نظر في بناء الحد، كما يبين تأثير المنهج المنطقي للحد في إدخال قيود تتجاوز الوصف الصناعي إلى التحليل العقلي، ولا سيما في قضايا الإعراب المنوي والضمير المستتر. ويقارن البحث بين اتجاهين في تعريف الكلمة؛ أحدهما ينطلق من وظيفتها داخل التركيب اللغوي، والآخر يعاملها بوصفها مفهوما تجريديًا يحتاج إلى حد منطقي دقيق. ويخلص البحث إلى أن الخلاف في حد الكلمة يعكس اختلافا في طريقة التفكير بين النحاة المتأثرين بالمنطق وغيرهم. ويوصي البحث بضرورة تحرير المصطلحات النحوية من الالتباس المفهومي، وبيان حدود الاستفادة من المنطق في بناء التعريفات النحوية.
