| Abstract (English): | The article examines the Prasun sound change from *d to l, which distinguishes Prasun from other Nuristani languages, and offers new etymological analyses of selected Prasun words. Eight main words are considered: oli- “to suck,” lumu´ “neck, stalk,” limóg “very long worm,” liníg “nettle,” pul- “to say, speak,” wulúg “worm,” wulúg “cap,” and zül “bush,” six of which are regarded as inherited words from Proto-Nuristani, one possibly of Bactrian origin, and one of Indo-Aryan origin. The sound change is evident in the lateralization of the original *d to l in Prasun, whereas other Nuristani languages mostly have d or a loss. Furthermore, Prasun preserves an old Indo-Iranian form with the word ?ul “copper,” which has been replaced by loanwords in other Nuristani languages. Overall, the analysis confirms the special position of Prasun within the Nuristani languages and provides important insights for the reconstruction of Proto-Nuristani and its classification within Indo-Iranian. | Abstract (German): | The paper mainly discusses the eight Prasun words oli- 'to suck', lumū́ 'neck; stalk', limóg 'very long worm(tapeworm?)', liníg, linigī,́ lēníg 'stinging nettle', pul-, pol- 'to say, to speak; to read', wulúg, wulugú 'worm', wulúg, wulíg, wolík 'hat', zül, zǖl, žül 'bush, shrub', ẓul 'copper', in addition to remarks on other Prasun and non-Prasun etyma. I propose new etymologies for words which so far lacked an etymology and provide their Nuristani and Indo-European connections. Six of the discussed main entries are inherited words from Proto-Nuristani while one is of possible Bactrian origin and another one is of Indo-Aryan provenance. The etyma are characterized by a lateral approximant in Prasun, which-in inherited words- goes back to earlier *d and corresponds to d or ∅ in the other Nuristani languages, depending on position.
