| Περίληψη: | This paper describes a single-case study exploring the evidence of 5th-grade student's computational thinking skills while participating in a STEM activity. This STEM activity called the Moonbase was developed by LEGO® Education and requires using the WeDo 2.0 Core Set to design a robot that can move on the moon's surface. The participant student programmed the robot to collect modules while using both STEM-related knowledge and computational thinking. Data was collected in a threehour implementation through semi-structured interview and observation. Qualitatively analyzed data reveal that computational thinking skills emerge when using the Moonbase STEM activity. Specifically, debugging, decomposition, and pattern recognition components are the pieces of evidence of computational thinking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
