Abstract (English): Action anthropology is one of the first currents in anthropology in which the partnership between the anthropologist and the community under study was recognized as an essential part of scientific activity. It was initiated and described in 1952 by American anthropologist Sol Tax. The article recalls the history of the origins of action anthropology, the principles that guide it, as well as the similarities and the differences between the ‘classical’ version of action anthropology and the approaches currently in use in Latin America. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Polish): Action anthropology to jeden z pierwszych nurtów w antropologii, w którym partnerstwo antropologa i badanej społeczności zostało uznane za istotny element działalności naukowej. Została zainicjowana i opisana w 1952 roku przez amerykańskiego antropologa Sola Taxa. W artykule przypomniana zostaje historia powstania action anthropology, zasady, którymi się ona kieruje, a także podobieństwa i różnice pomiędzy „klasyczną" wersją action anthropology i podejściami funkcjonującymi obecnie w Ameryce Łacińskiej.
