Περίληψη: Nine previously undescribed oligosaccharide esters (1-9), designated as tenuifolioses I-IX, along with nine known analogues (10-18), were isolated from the roots of Polygala tenuifolia Willd. Structural characterization of the novel compounds was achieved through comprehensive spectroscopic analysis, including 1D/2D NMR and HRESIMS data. The absolute configuration of the sugars were determined by acid hydrolysis either coupled with chemical derivatization or optical detection. The neuroprotective potential of the isolated compounds was evaluated using the H2O2-induced oxidative injury model with SY5Y cells. Compounds 5, 15, and 18 exhibited significant neuroprotective activity, with respective EC50 values of 1.74, 5.99, and 6.17 μM, much lower than the EC50 value of 49.17 μM for the positive control, ascorbic acid.
