| Περίληψη: | The anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process is an economical and efficient technology for treating high-nitrogen wastewater. Nonetheless, elevated salinity levels in such wastewater significantly disrupt the stable operation of the anammox system, impeding its practical application. This review systematically evaluates the multifaceted effects of salinity on the anammox process. From the perspectives of the extracellular, intracellular, and microbial community, the influence mechanisms of salinity on the anammox process are elaborated in detail. Then, the spontaneous salt tolerance mechanisms of anaerobic ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB) were analyzed, including the salt-in strategy, compatible-solute strategy, and quorum sensing (QS). Finally, three strategies that can effectively alleviate salinity stress were summarized, and the future prospects of this field were discussed. This review seeks to provide a solid theoretical foundation for the engineering application of this technology in saline wastewater treatment. (Copyright © 2025. Published by Elsevier Inc.) |
