| Abstract: | The article focuses on approaches for systems designers to develop fast, basic input/output system (BIOS)-less boot for embedded applications. It states that a solution to improve boot times further is to eliminate the BIOS boot portions that are not required for a particular embedded application. It also mentions that researchers at Intel Corp. listed some ways to reduce boot times such as tailoring the BIOS for a specific embedded system, and enabling the Intel SpeedStep technology. |
