Abstract: The Financial Planning Longitudinal Study (FPLS), sponsored by CFP Board of Standards Inc., is an annual assessment tracking the use of professional financial services by a representative sample of mass affluent households in the United States. The second year of data collection includes information on respondents who start, stop, and change professional financial services. The survey retains longitudinal measures of resource management, psychological‐social conditions, and financial well‐being, but also adds new measures of asset ownership and family contexts. This study summarizes the descriptive findings across respondents who report not using a financial professional, those who report using a CFP professional, and those who report using another type of financial professional. In addition to comparing the 2024 and 2025 cross‐sections, this study also summarizes changes in measures for the subset of respondents who participated in both waves. Researchers are encouraged to use the data to advance our collective understanding of financial planning and engagements with financial professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
