| Περίληψη: | In this paper, two ways shortages in imperfect production system with price-sensitive demand, reworking, scrap and price-break even point is considered. However, to the best of my knowledge, no authors have developed models for optimal production lot size policies in two ways of shortages with price-sensitive demand, reworking and scrap. Two models are developed: the first model is used to determine the optimal production lot size with two ways of shortages, reworking and scrap which is called after reworking and the second model is used to determine the optimal production lot size with two ways of shortages which is named as before reworking. The price-break even point is considered in both the models on pre-determined price. The objective here is to obtain optimum production lot size in both the models with respect to minimizing overall cost. This study shows that the price per unit increase as the quantity decreases. It is observed that the total profit is higher in case of after reworking of defective items as compared with before reworking of defective items. A mathematical model is established, and a technique for identifying the best solution is developed. A numerical example is solved, and a sensitivity analysis is conducted to investigate the impact of several factors on the ideal solution. Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 is used to code the model's outcome validation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
