| Abstract: | Accelerated master's programs have expanded as a pathway to streamline postgraduate education, but their labor-market implications remain unclear. Using graduate survey data from a large Chilean university, this paper examines the relationship between articulated master's participation and early-career outcomes. To address selection, we exploit cohort-by-major peer enrollment as local variation in students' enrollment decisions. Results show no meaningful first-year earnings differences, but sizable earnings gaps emerge three to five years after graduation, with no evidence of delayed employment. Findings should be interpreted as local to peer-exposed students and conditional on survey participation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
