| Περίληψη: | How to make markets more inclusive is an important grand challenge of our times. The rapidly growing literature on inclusive markets has increasingly focused on the interplay between intermediaries seeking to build more inclusive markets and established institutions that reinforce discriminatory practices but has remained segregated with a focus on either constraining institutional effects or liberating intermediary potential. Overlooked is the dynamic, temporal, and power-laden nature of their relationship. Our review offers a systematic overview and synthesis of this disparate literature, paving the way for future research. Using a combination of bibliometric and qualitative analyses, we reveal the intellectual structures, present trends, and overarching perspectives that illustrate how research at the intersection of intermediaries and institutions has evolved over the past 30 years. The review emphasizes the need to move beyond contemporary ideational boundaries and proposes an integrative model that contributes to a deeper understanding of the underlying dynamics of intermediary-institutions interactions. Our review consequently provides novel insights into the interplay and helps invigorate this deeply consequential area of scholarship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
