Abstract (English): This study aimed to identify trends in accounting activities in Brazil and their positioning in Latin America. With an applied nature, mixed and exploratory approach, the search for data was carried out between June and October 2022 on the INPI portal and the LATIPAT database, with 31 and 37 records being retrieved, respectively. After the analyses, it was concluded that in Brazil there is an average of 5 registration requests per year; almost 84% are held by legal entities; the registrations are concentrated in the fields of administration, economics, industry, information, and finance; and the predominant programming languages are Java, Delphi, HTML and SQL. As for Latin America, the requests considered patents, a total of 37 applications were found, distributed between Spain and Peru. The main contribution of this research lies in identifying trends and gaps that can guide strategic decision-making, with direct implications for the practice and development of innovative software. Abstract (Spanish): Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las tendencias de las actividades contables en Brasil y su posicionamiento en América Latina. Con un enfoque aplicado, mixto y exploratorio, la búsqueda de datos se realizó entre junio y octubre de 2022 en el portal INPI y en la base de datos LATIPAT, y se recuperaron 31 y 37 registros, respectivamente. Después de los análisis, se concluyó que en Brasil hay un promedio de 5 solicitudes de registro por año; casi el 84% están en manos de personas jurídicas; los registros se concentran en las áreas de administración, economía, industria, información y finanzas; y los lenguajes de programación predominantes son Java, Delphi, HTML y SQL. En cuanto a América Latina, las solicitudes consideraron patentes, se encontraron un total de 37 solicitudes, distribuidas entre España y Perú. La principal contribución de esta investigación radica en identificar tendencias y brechas que puedan orientar la toma de decisiones estratégicas, con implicaciones directas en la práctica y el desarrollo de software innovador. Abstract (Portuguese): Este trabalho teve o objetivo de identificar a tendência dos registros de programas de computador voltados para a área contábil no Brasil e como o país se posiciona em relação à América Latina. De natureza aplicada, abordagem mista e exploratória, a busca de dados foi realizada entre junho e outubro de 2022 no portal do INPI e na base de dados LATIPAT, sendo recuperados 31 e 37 registros, respectivamente. Após as análises, concluiu-se que no Brasil há uma média de 5 pedidos de registro por ano; quase 84% são detidos por pessoas jurídicas; os registros se concentram nas áreas de administração, economia, indústria, informação e finanças; e as linguagens de programação predominantes são Java, Delphi, HTML e SQL. Quanto à América Latina, os pedidos consideraram patentes, foram encontrados um total de 37 pedidos, distribuídos entre Espanha e Peru. A principal contribuição desta pesquisa reside na identificação de tendências e lacunas que podem orientar a tomada de decisões estratégicas, com implicações diretas para a prática e o desenvolvimento de softwares inovadores.
